In my group, there are 3 lecturer who will give us lecture through out all the classes:

  1.  Siti Fadhilah Binti Abdul Hamid
  2. Muhammad Isha Bin Ismail
  3. Muhammad Sufyan Bin Mohammad Zaki

So basiccally, the UED 102 course was a new syllabus for all new UITM's students to teach us how the university's life working on. The passing mark for this subject is 55% which is i will strive to get better than that insyallah :) The assessment of this subject are divided by two sections;

  2. MAKING A VIDEO (GROUP WORK) - 40%

TOPIC 1: GETTING READY TO LEARN

Day : 1
Lecturer : Madam Siti Fadhilah Binti Abdul Hamid.

In this topic, i have learnt about how to making transition from school's life to university's life. Plus, i also learnt the ways on how to success in univesity.

 Some of the transition is ;

  • in university, the classes is bigger than school's classes because the total of university student is more than school
  • you will not remember some assignments and exams due dates because everything was on your own
  • you will have less time in class because there will be more lab, assingments and so much more so you will have more time to study outside your class
  • you can drop some classes and courses whenever you want because everything can do online by yourself
  • you will participate in more extra co-curricular activities because in university participation in other than academic is nessesary to maintain your grade
  • you will not know what topics exactly will come out in exams beacuse the instructor will not tell you
  • you need to read more information by yourself before attending the classes because the instructor will not give you the notes
  • you will get to know more friends from different states and racess

the transition from school to university helps me a lot to build up my strenght and spirits mentally and physically while i was away from my family. Plus, the information helps me to try to fit in new environment. Furthermore, Madam Fadhilah also gave us some tips which i think are very important to all university's student and my personally highlight in Madam Fadhilah's lecture is;

8 WAYS TO SUCCESS IN COLLEGE;

(1)ATTEND ALL CLASSES
   - we need to attend all classes to get all the input and information without miss or we               will lost in the next class

(2)BECOME AN ACTIVE LEARNER
   - this is because it will be easier for you to catch up to every classes you attend

(3)PARTICIPATE IN ALL THE CLASSES
   - make sure we balance our academics, leaderships, co-curricular and etc

(4)GET TO KNOW YOUR LECTURER
   - so it will be easy for us to find good resources

(5)FORM STUDY GROUP WITH YOUR FRIENDS
   - so we can exchange opinions with one another and learn from each other

(6) STAY UP TO DATE WITH YOUR WORKS
   - this will avoid you from procrastination and help us to finish all our works on time

(7)BE RECEPTIVE TO LEARN
   - it makes you easier to accept what us have learnt and what instructors taught us

(8)WORK HARD EVERY SEMESTER
   - this is very important because it helps us to get excellent result to pass our exams                 with flying colours

okay so after Madam Fadhilah finished her lecture about the first topic, she did an activity for us to figure out what kind of learner we are. I am a kinesthetic learner which is i learnt better by doing activities and need to make movements while studying. My score for the activity is 106 for kinesthetic learner, 71 for visual and 43 for auditionary.

TOPIC 2 : GOALS SETTING

Day : 1
Lecturer : Sir Muhammad Isha Bin Ismail

     After finished the first topic, we continued to our second topic: Goals setting. Sir Isha is a lecture for program EC110. He is funny yet a strict kind of person. It was great to have him as one of our lecturer for subject UED 102. This topic taught me on how to create effective goals. Furthemore, it helps me to plan my journey in unversity

"FAILING TO PLAN IS PLANNING TO FAIL"
  - ALAN KALEIN -

One wise man once has said,  that we need to have a plan so we will have purpose in life as our guide to success. Goals is something that we want to achieve, we want to get within our time period that we have create by ourself.  For me every student should have their own goals because goals can inpire student to be better version of themselves everyday so that they will taste the succesfull.  Moreover, goals can also help students to motivate themselves to finish their works and to attend all the classes.

CHARACTERISTIC  OF EFFECTIVE GOALS;

1. ATTAINABLE
   - goals that can be achieve.
   - example: gain weight, run in 1 minute

2. MEASUREABLE
   - goals need to have an indicator
   - example: kilogram, kilometre, centimetre

3. IN WRITING
    - goals need to be written in piece of paper so that we will be more focus to.          achieve the goals
   - example: write goals in notes

4. HAS A TIME LIMIT
    - we must create a time limit so that we can finish the goals within the time
   - example: 5 years from now, in a week

5. WITHIN YOUR CONTROL
    - goals cannot be beyond our capable so that we can make it happen
   - example: running, work out, finish the assignment

6. RELEVANT
   - goals need to be realistic

     Sir isha also gave us the acronym about the methods to create an achieveable goals which is it will be more easier for us to remember.

S - SPECIFIC
M - MEASUREABLE
A - ATTAINABLE
R - REVIEW AND REVISE
T - TIME

    Moreover, i will share with you another 5 easy ways to make effective goals:

1. GOALS¢
   • you need to create and write goals what ever you want but based on the SMART acronym so that it will be effective goals

2. OBSTACLE¢
   • you need to figure out what obtacles you need to face and handle to achieve your goals. My advise, do not let your obstacles make you down. Conquer them!!

3. RESOURCE¢
   • you need to know what or where resources for you to fight against your obtacles so you could achieve your goals

4. REVIEW & REVISE ¢
   • you need to review all your goals frequently and make them happen by achieve them

5. PUBLISH ¢

the best goals should be less effort and high value. It means, the goals will make big impact to our life but we does not need to do more work to achieve the goals

   After Sir Isha gave us lecture about topic 2, we proceed our class to topic 3 which is Time Management and Organization Skills.

  Time management is the ability of someone to use time effectively and productively especially when we are doing our work. As one of the university students, we need to manage our time properly because there will be a lot of club meetings, assignments, group study, classes, exams and etc. So as a student, we need to be discipline to achieve our goals and to success in life. In learning, it is important for us to remember every details in every subject to get pointer 4.00 flat. For me this topic is really important because memory plays important role to every student. Every student should increase their memory and improve their concentration to success in studies. In this topic, i have learnt about the strategies and the ways on how we can improve our memory to remember things. Plus, i have learnt about how human digest and keep all the information.

MEMORY :  in 2011, Santrock had said that memory is the retention of information overtime or the mind store or remember information ( computer software)

BRAIN :  brain is an organ in human body ( computer hardware)

                                         Image result for brain

there are steps for human to process something to keep it in our brain. Especially when we tries to remember things in our studies.

LEARN
 - you need to learn new things so that u will gain knowledge
- when you gain knowledge, you will get information through your senses

REMEMBER
- after you learnt something, you will remembered
- the information will trasfer to another neuron in your nervous system to get to your integrating system which is your brain and spinal cord

ENCODE
- when you remembered something, your brain will save the memory
- when the information has arrive to your integrating system, it will be classify and analysis based on the category

STORE
- when there is memory about the information, your brain will store the information
- after your information has been classified, your integrating system will store the information in hypothalamus

REVIVE THE INFORMATION
- when the memory was created, you will be easier to revise and remember the information

MEMORY

based on Tulring in 1985, memory is the capacity that permits organisms to benefit from past experiences. Functions of memory are memory can act like a storage to save all the imformation. Plus, memory can also retrieval all your information and being function as specific system functionally such as your skills and save a the procedure. Memory has been divided to 2 functional systems which is :

  • WORKING MEMORY
  • LONG-TERM MEMORY

• HOW WORKING MEMORY PROCESSING MEMORY •

- information processed to allow person to achieved action goals or goals of problem at hand ;

REMEMBERING AND FORGETTING

CAUSE OF FORGET MEMORY ;
  1. Trace Decay - Memories fade automatic with the time
  2. Proactive Interference - Memory in someone's past influence the new ones
  3. Introactive Interference - Old memories changed by the new ones
MOVEMENT RELATE ;

Next, Sir Sufyan also gave us information about the elaboration strategies. These can help us to remember all our study notes easily and can save our time when we take lecturer notes.
  • Acronym
  • Catchphrase
  • Mnemonics
  • Visualize the Image of Information Needed
  • organize the Materials
Plus we can also improve our memory by using SQ3R steps:
